GigSky Visa Infinite eSIM: How to Claim 3GB Free + 30% Off
October 8, 2026

GigSky’s Israel eSIM lineup mixes excellent daily bucket plans with overpriced fixed data packages. The daily 3.5GB plans offer competitive rates, especially the 15-day option at $0.81 per GB, while fixed plans cost several times more than rivals.
Pros
- Daily 3.5GB plans at $0.81 per GB over 15 days
- Works in nearly every country
- Reliable app and support
- One-day plan suits a single heavy day
Cons
- Fixed plans are overpriced (e.g., $36.49 for 10GB)
- Good and bad plans look identical at checkout
- No unlimited option
There is a free travel eSIM sitting in most premium Visa cards, and most cardholders have never claimed it.
Visa and GigSky run a cardholder benefit that hands Visa Infinite holders 3GB of international data, valid across 175+ destinations, at no cost. Visa Signature holders get 1GB.

Both come with a standing discount on every GigSky plan you buy afterwards, and both are claimed inside the GigSky app in about four minutes.
No promo code, no minimum spend, no statement credit to chase.
This guide covers the Visa Infinite eSIM plans and the Signature version beneath them: who qualifies, exactly what each tier gets, the claim flow step by step, and what to buy when the free gigabytes run out.
The short version
Bottom line: if you hold a Visa Infinite card, download GigSky, open Offers and Benefits, type in your card number, and 3GB of free travel data appears in your account with a full year to activate it.
Signature cards get 1GB the same way. Then use the 30% or 20% discount on a paid plan for the rest of the trip.
| Card tier | Free data | Valid for | How often | Discount on paid plans |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Visa Infinite (US) | 3GB | 15 days | Once per calendar year | 30% off |
| Visa Signature (US) | 1GB | 15 days | Once per calendar year | 20% off |
| Visa Infinite (Latin America and Caribbean) | 3GB | 15 days | Once, twice in Brazil | 30% off |
| Visa Platinum and Signature (Latin America and Caribbean) | 1GB | 15 days | Once, twice in Brazil | 20% off |
| Visa Infinite (Canada) | 1GB packages, up to twice a year on some cards | 15 days each | Annual | 20% to 30% off |
| Visa Classic, Gold, Platinum (Canada) | none | n/a | n/a | 10% off |

The benefit is regional. The tier table your card falls under depends on the country that issued it, not where you are travelling.
A Brazilian Infinite card claims twice a year. A US Infinite card claims once.
Which Cards Qualify for the GigSky Visa Infinite eSIM?
Visa Infinite in the US includes the Chase Sapphire Reserve, the Capital One Venture X and the U.S. Bank Altitude Reserve. These are the 3GB cards.
Visa Signature in the US includes the Chase Sapphire Preferred, Chase Freedom Unlimited, Chase Freedom Flex, Ink Business Preferred and the Wells Fargo Autograph. These are the 1GB cards, and the Freedom cards are the surprise on the list, because they carry no annual fee and still qualify.
Two issuer partnerships go further than the standard tiers.

The U.S. Bank Altitude Connect, a Signature card, gets 5GB every 15 days on a rolling basis through 11 November 2027. The UBS Visa Infinite gets 5GB a year with a 30 day window plus 30% off everything else.
If you are not sure which tier you hold, the tier name is printed on the card face or in the card’s benefits guide, and the GigSky app tells you the moment you type the number in. There is no penalty for checking a card that does not qualify.

How to claim it, step by step?
The whole process happens inside the GigSky app, and the card check is the only part that takes any thought.

1. Install GigSky from the App Store or Google Play and create an account.
Email and password, no card needed yet.

2. Open Offers and Benefits in the app menu.
The Visa banner sits at the top.

3. Enter your 16 digit card number.
The app checks the card’s issuing bank and tier and shows the matching offer.

4. Save the card to your account.
This is the card that gets the discount on later plans.

5. Tap Claim on the free plan.
The plan lands in your account immediately.

6. Install the eSIM when the app prompts you.
Do this on home wifi, not at the airport.

7. Choose activate now or leave it for later.
You have up to one year before it activates on its own.
Step seven is the part worth understanding. Claiming the plan and activating it are separate.
Claim it today, install the eSIM, and it sits dormant until you either switch it on at your destination or the twelve month clock runs out and starts it for you. That means you can claim in January for a trip in October with no downside.
Check the phone first if you have never used an eSIM. Dial *#06# and look for an EID line under the IMEI. If it is there, the phone takes an eSIM.
If not, our eSIM compatibility check explains the alternatives.
What 3GB actually covers?
Three gigabytes over fifteen days is a real allowance for a normal trip, not a token one.

Maps, messaging, email, ride hailing and a reasonable amount of photo uploading run about 200 to 300MB a day for most travellers, which puts 3GB at ten days to two weeks of ordinary use. It will not survive video streaming or a daily video call home, and that is where the discount comes in.
One gigabyte on a Signature card is a different proposition. It covers a long weekend of maps and messaging, or it covers the gap between landing and buying something bigger.
Treat it as the starter plan, claim it anyway, and think of the 20% discount as the actual benefit.
Two things the free plan does not do. It runs on land networks only, so it excludes GigSky’s cruise coverage at sea, which is a separate product covered in our cruise eSIM guide. And it is a single 15 day window, so the clock starts when you activate and does not pause between countries.
What to buy when it runs out?
This is where the Visa benefit earns its place on a page about paid plans.
Once the card is saved in the app, every GigSky plan you buy carries the tier discount automatically: 30% off for Infinite, 20% for Signature, and 10% for the Canadian Platinum, Gold and Classic tiers.
GigSky’s paid range has two shapes. The fixed plans run from 1GB up to 50GB with validity windows that reach 90 and 180 days in some countries, which suits people who travel to the same place repeatedly.
The daily plans give 3.5GB of full speed data every day and reset each morning, which suits people who would rather not count.
| Trip | Free plan covers it? | Paid plan to add |
|---|---|---|
| Long weekend, maps and messaging | Yes, on either tier | Nothing |
| Ten days, moderate use | Yes on Infinite, no on Signature | Signature holders add a 3GB or 5GB fixed plan at 20% off |
| Two weeks with video calls home | No | Add a 3.5GB per day plan for the second week at 30% or 20% off |
| Repeat visits to one country | No | A 50GB plan with a 180 day window, discounted, spread across trips |
| Cruise | No | GigSky’s cruise plan, which the free benefit excludes |
Our GigSky review covers the paid plans country by country, and the GigSky promo code page lists ESIMADVICE15 for 15% off.
The Visa tier discount and the promo code are separate mechanisms, and the app applies whichever it recognises at checkout, so run the numbers both ways before you pay.

Where GigSky is strong, and where it is not?

The free gigabytes are only worth having if the network underneath them works, so it is fair to say where GigSky stands.
GigSky’s strengths are its long validity windows, its daily bucket plans, a free 100MB to 500MB starter plan on signup in many countries even without a Visa card, and a mature app that shows your balance clearly.
Its fixed plans are priced well in Europe and priced poorly in Central America, where the same 10GB can cost three times what it costs in Switzerland.
That variation matters for the discount. Thirty percent off a plan that is already the cheapest in a country is a bargain. Thirty percent off a plan that is the most expensive in a country may still leave you paying more than a rival charges at full price.
Our compare eSIM providers tool runs the numbers per country in a few seconds.
Stick strictly to GigSky’s daily plans for good value; avoid the fixed data options entirely.
FAQ’s
Do I need to pay for anything to get the free GigSky Visa eSIM?
No. The complimentary plan is claimed with the card number alone. GigSky saves the card so the tier discount applies to later purchases, but nothing is charged unless you buy a paid plan yourself.
Can I claim the free plan more than once?
In the US, once per calendar year per eligible card, so a new calendar year brings a new claim. Brazilian Infinite and Platinum cards claim twice a year, and the U.S. Bank Altitude Connect renews 5GB every 15 days on its own. Two different eligible cards on one account each carry their own benefit.
Does the free plan work on a cruise ship?
No. The complimentary Visa plans cover land networks in 175+ destinations and exclude GigSky’s cruise network at sea. A cruise needs GigSky’s separate cruise plan, which the tier discount does apply to.
When does the 15 day validity start?
When you activate, not when you claim. After claiming you have up to a year to activate the plan yourself, and if you never do, it activates automatically at the end of that year. Install it at home, then switch it on when you land.
Which Visa tier is my card?
The tier is printed on the card face, usually near the Visa logo, and the GigSky app confirms it the moment you enter the card number. Visa Infinite is the top consumer tier, Signature sits below it, and Platinum, Gold and Classic sit below that.
Is the discount better than the eSIMTweaks promo code?
It depends on the tier. The Infinite discount of 30% is larger than the 15% code, the Signature discount of 20% is also larger, and the Canadian Platinum discount of 10% is smaller. The app applies one at checkout, so compare the final price with the card saved and with code ESIMADVICE15 entered before you pay.

Our verdict
Claim it. A Visa Infinite card that already charges an annual fee is handing you 3GB of travel data and a 30% discount that lasts as long as the card does, and a fee-free Freedom card is handing you 1GB and 20% off. There is no version of a trip where that is the wrong call.
Then treat the free plan as the first fortnight and the discount as the real prize. For a heavy trip, add a GigSky daily plan at the tier discount. For a country where GigSky’s fixed prices are high, take the free 3GB and buy the rest from whichever provider wins that country on our comparison pages.
